Samsung Electronics announced a new partnership with Etsy, the global marketplace for unique and creative goods, bringing 25 new works of nature-inspired art to The Frame, available exclusively on Samsung’s Art Store.

Available worldwide beginning October 28, the collection of imaginative and family-friendly art features five popular Etsy artists: Jorey Hurley, Elly Mackay, Melanie Mikecz, David Scheirer and Mirlande Jean-Gilles, who work in a variety of mediums from collage to watercolor. The 25 selected works from the artists feature a mix of vivid illustrations, colorful collages, and whimsical imagery and graphics that come alive on The Frame’s QLED screen, awakening imagination in any room of the house.

Designed to be a TV when it’s on and art when it’s off, The Frame is an innovative digital canvas that reflects an individual’s personal style. With over 1,400 works of art available within its extensive Art Store catalogue, the new partnership with Etsy arrives at a time when consumers are reimagining the uses of their homes, and how spaces can be inspiring and restorative for the whole family.

“Since launching The Frame in 2017, Samsung has curated a diverse catalogue of art from across the world. However, this new collection developed in partnership with Etsy is something new for us and extremely special,” said Salek Brodsky, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development for Samsung Electronics. “The Frame’s extensive Art Store catalogue has always been about democratizing art and giving consumers the ability to discover pieces that move and inspire them. We are excited to give five of Etsy’s artists a global audience.”

“These talented artists and creators really showcase the creative spirit of our community and we are excited to be sharing their talents with the world in this way,” said Kelly Clausen, Senior Director, Communications and Strategic Partnerships at Etsy. “Our partnership with Samsung will provide an entirely new avenue for these artists to bring their creative inspiration directly into homes for people around the world.”

The Frame’s Art Store catalogue features art from museums and galleries worldwide in luminous 4K picture quality. Samsung’s unique partnerships have transformed the user experience with The Frame from a traditional TV into a discovery hub for the most iconic art pieces and collections.

According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung Electronics has taken the top position in the global OLED monitor market by capturing 34.7% of market share based on total revenue, and the top position in market share based on sales volume with 28.3% of OLED monitors sold in 2023.1

“The OLED monitor market is highly competitive, so reaching the top spot requires unparalleled innovation and product quality,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “This achievement speaks to our drive for excellence and understanding of consumer needs, the key factors in producing outstanding OLED monitors for performance-demanding gamers around the globe.”

Samsung has also maintained its leadership in the overall global gaming monitor market for the fifth consecutive year, recording a market share of 20.8% in terms of total revenue.2

Since its launch in 2017, Samsung’s QLED TV lineup, including the latest Neo QLED models, has surpassed cumulative sales of 40 million units. In 2023 alone, the QLED lineup achieved sales of 8.31million units.

The company has recorded an impressive 60.5% market share in terms of sales for TVs priced over $2,500, while also maintaining a lead with 33.9% sales share for TVs over 75 inches. In addition, thanks to robust sales of 98-inch models, TVs over the 90 inches have maintained the lead with a 30.4% market share.

Building on its success in the ultra-large and high-end TV market, Samsung has also made significant strides in the OLED sector. The company’s OLED TV lineup recorded 1.01 million units sold in 2023, capturing a market share of 22.7%. With the expanded OLED lineup in 2024, Samsung’s market share in the OLED sector is projected to surge in 2024.

Samsung Electronics today announced that eight product series1 in its 2024 Neo QLED 4K and 8K, OLED, and The Frame lineups have received the “Product Carbon Reduction” certification from TÜV Rheinland, the international independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization. The certification demonstrates the carbon footprint reduction ratio of these products compared to the previous year’s model, serving as a testament to the company’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions year-over-year.

“As the world’s leading TV manufacturer, it is our responsibility to create products that both redefine TV capabilities while advancing sustainability efforts,” said Yongjae Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

“Congratulations to Samsung Electronics. The issuance of Product Carbon Reduction certification demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to environmental sustainability and its actual implementation efforts to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change,” said Frank Holzmann, Global Vice President of TÜV Rheinland Business Field Electrical, “This recognition will undoubtedly enhance the brand’s reputation and customer trust, further solidifying its position as a leading player in the global electronics market.”

TÜV Rheinland evaluated greenhouse gas emissions for Samsung’s TV products throughout their life cycle- “from Cradle to Grave” — ranging from manufacturing, transportation, use to disposal, in accordance with the internationally recognized standards such as ISO 14067 and ISO 14064-4 as well as TÜV Rheinland’s self-developed standard 2 PfG Q2880/09.23. It verifies and certifies that all of eight TV product series meet the carbon reduction standard requirement set by TÜV Rheinland. The newly certified products include two Neo QLED 8K series, three Neo QLED 4K series, two OLED series and one series of The Frame.

In addition to product certification, Samsung’s Visual Display Business obtained the display and consumer electronics industry’s first “Product Carbon Footprint Calculation Method” certification from TÜV Rheinland. This certification measures and manages greenhouse gas emissions throughout the complete life cycle of a product, collecting and analyzing data in accordance with management regulations and stipulated execution manuals to calculate greenhouse gas emissions and ensure transparent and reproducible results.

As Samsung continues its work to reduce the environmental impact of its products, it aims to achieve TÜV Rheinland’s “Product Carbon Footprint” and “Product Carbon Reduction” certifications for over 60 models in 2024, including newly introduced soundbars. With these eight product series’ carbon reduction result and analysis report, Samsung has more confidence and clear direction in the development and design of the next generation decarbonized TV product.

This recognition builds on previous acknowledgements of Samsung’s sustainability efforts. It obtained its first “Reducing CO2” certification from the Carbon Trust in 2021 for Neo QLED 4K and higher resolution TVs. In 2022, 11 TV models and five monitor and signage products achieved the “Reducing CO2” certification, and most recently, 24 models across Samsung’s 2023 lineup were certified by the Carbon Trust and TÜV Rheinland.
