Samsung Electronics today announced that it ranks as the world’s No.1 TV brand for the 20th consecutive year — marking two decades as the global leader in the television industry.
Samsung had held the top position in the global TV market since 2006, and, according to market research firm Omdia, the company recorded a 29.1% share of the global TV market in 2025. This achievement reinforces Samsung’s leadership across premium, ultra-large and next-generation display technologies.
Samsung led the premium segment priced over $2,500 with a 54.3% market share, driven by Neo QLED, OLED, and lifestyle TVs. It also maintained its lead in the segment over $1,500, holding a 52.2% market share.
“When consumers choose a TV, they’re choosing a brand they can trust for years to come,” said SW Yong, President and Head of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our 20-year leadership in the global TV market reflects that trust — built on decades of engineering excellence and premium innovation.”
20 Years of Industry-Defining Innovation
Since first reaching the No.1 position in 2006 with its design-led Bordeaux TV, Samsung has consistently innovated to reshape the television industry:
2009: The company accelerated the global transition to LED TVs, setting new standards for slimmer, more energy-efficient displays. 2011: The introduction of Smart TVs further transformed televisions into connected entertainment platforms, expanding their role beyond traditional viewing. 2015: The Serif reimagined how TVs integrate into living spaces by introducing a design-focused TV that positioned the screen as a statement piece within the home. 2017: The company launched The Frame, pioneering the Art TV category by transforming the television into a customizable digital art canvas. 2017: In premium picture quality, Samsung continued to set industry benchmarks with the introduction of QLED TVs powered by quantum dot technology. 2018: 8K TVs delivered over 33 million pixels — four times the resolution of 4K. 2020: Samsung introduced MICRO LED technology, advancing self-emissive display innovation and setting new standards for brightness, contrast and color accuracy in ultra-large screens. Samsung Electronics today announced that it has retained its position as the world’s leading gaming monitor brand for the sixth consecutive year, according to the latest data from the International Data Corporation (IDC).
Based on total revenue, Samsung captured a leading 21.0% share of the global gaming monitor market in 2024,1 reaffirming its dominance in a fast-evolving, performance-driven industry. Samsung also ranked first in the global OLED monitor segment for the second year in a row, reaching a 34.6% market share just two years after launching its first OLED model.2

Samsung’s continued growth is fueled by its powerful Odyssey gaming monitor lineup, which sets the standard for immersive and high-performance gaming through a variety of models:
Odyssey 3D (G90XF model): A revolutionary 27” monitor that delivers immersive glasses-free 3D gaming, powered by eye-tracking and proprietary lenticular lens technology. With seamless 2D-to-3D video conversion via Reality Hub, a 165Hz refresh rate and an ultra-fast 1ms GTG response time, the monitor redefines interactivity and realism. Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF model): A cutting-edge 27” or 32” 4K 240Hz OLED gaming monitor that delivers exceptional color accuracy and ultra-fast performance through advanced QD-OLED technology. It features the industry’s highest pixel density in its class, a 0.03ms GTG response time and Samsung OLED Safeguard+ to protect against burn-in. Samsung Electronics today announced that it has secured its position as the global leader in the TV market for the 19th consecutive year.
According to market research firm Omdia, Samsung achieved a 28.3% market share in the global TV market in 2024, maintaining the number one ranking it has held since 2006. This continued success is driven by the company’s commitment to premium and ultra-large screen innovation, as well as the introduction of cutting-edge, AI-powered TVs.
“Samsung’s 19-year reign as the global TV market leader has been made possible by the trust and support of our customers,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “We will continue to shape the future of the TV industry with innovations like AI-powered TVs, delivering products and services that meaningfully enrich people’s lives.”

Dominance in the Premium and Ultra-Large TV Segments
Samsung solidified its leadership in the high-end TV market, particularly in the premium ($2,500+) and ultra-large (75-inch and above) segments:
Premium ($2,500+) TVs – Samsung captured a 49.6% market share, accounting for nearly half of the global premium TV market. 75-inch and above – Samsung led the ultra-large category with a 28.7% market share.
QLED and OLED TV Success
Samsung also maintained its leadership in the QLED and OLED segments, reinforcing its dominance in the premium TV industry:
QLED TVs – With 8.34 million units sold, Samsung commanded a 46.8% market share, further strengthening its leadership in this category. The global QLED market also saw significant growth, surpassing 10% of total TV sales for the first time. OLED TVs – Samsung’s OLED sales reached 1.44 million units in 2024, securing a 27.3% market share. This marks a year-over-year (YoY) increase of 42% and 4.6% in unit sales and market share, respectively, reflecting strong consumer demand for Samsung’s OLED innovations.
Transforming Home Entertainment With AI and Art
At CES 2025, Samsung unveiled Vision AI, a breakthrough in AI-powered screens that extends beyond traditional entertainment. By analyzing user preferences, intent and habits, Vision AI delivers a seamlessly personalized viewing experience that shapes the future of smart home displays.
Samsung is also expanding its Samsung Art Store — originally available exclusively on The Frame — to Neo QLED and QLED models this year, providing more consumers with access to a personalized digital art experience.

Having entered the commercial display market with a full B2B signage in 2008, Samsung continues to make history of digital signage with consistent technological innovation, differentiated solutions, and market leadership.
