  1. Samsung TV Plus, Samsung Electronics’ free ad-supported streaming (FAST) service, has surpassed 100 million monthly active users (MAU) worldwide. After reaching 88 million in October 2024, the figure has increased by 12 million in about a year and two months, highlighting how Samsung’s longstanding hardware dominance in the global TV market — maintained for the past 19 years — has evolved into a robust media platform ecosystem. As the global media market shifts increasingly toward paid subscriptions, Samsung TV Plus provides a unique viewing experience that allows users to access content instantly, without requiring additional sign-ups or payment. Surpassing the milestone of 100 million users underscores the success of this model as an appealing alternative for viewers. Samsung Newsroom takes a look at the transformative journey of Samsung TV Plus as it evolves into a global media platform amidst the changing landscape of television viewing. Lost in a Flood of OTTs: Authentic TV Experience Regains Attention With paid OTT services becoming the norm in today’s media market, the explosion of content has led to viewer fatigue. As subscription fees continue to rise and platforms have become more fragmented, many find themselves overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices, making it increasingly difficult to locate the content they actually want to watch. In this context, FAST services are gaining recognition as a new viewing method. By merging the straightforwardness of traditional television — where viewers can jump right into content as soon as they turn on their TVs — with the vast selection offered by OTT platforms that allow viewers to choose content tailored to their preferences, FAST services are appealing to viewers worldwide looking for a simpler, hassle-free viewing experience. The Beginning of Samsung TV Plus: A Viewing Method Faithful to the Basics Samsung TV Plus has evolved into a prominent FAST service, but it isn’t new. Launched in 2015 — before the concept of FAST even existed — the platform has been delivering free channel services that come pre-installed on Samsung smart TVs. The core feature allows users to enjoy live content simply by turning on their TVs, without the need for separate subscriptions, payments or extra equipment. In its early days, Samsung TV Plus was often viewed more like the pre-installed free TV channels available in some regions, rather than as a standalone media platform. Recently, however, with American broadcasters flooding into the FAST market, the idea of ad-supported free services has become well-established. Recognizing this shift in the media landscape, Samsung has begun to cultivate Samsung TV Plus as a distinct, independent media platform. Today, Samsung TV Plus is broadening its content offerings beyond traditional entertainment and dramas, as well as incorporating content enhancement utilizing AI technology. One innovative feature is the “All-in-One AI Integrated Channel,” which revives popular dramas from the 2000s. These classics have been remastered in high definition using AI-driven picture and sound quality enhancements, providing viewers with a fresh take on beloved content while utilizing the existing video assets. Additionally, the platform has bolstered its travel and fitness-focused lifestyle web entertainment content by adding popular creators’ channels like “Pani Bottle” and “Hip Euddeum.” In efforts to expand its K-content offerings, Samsung TV Plus has partnered with leading Korean media companies to enhance its premium K-content lineup, making it one of the largest K-content providers in the United States. By streaming various live concerts, the platform draws in fans who want to engage with Korean entertainment and culture. Beyond Hardware: Establishing a Global Media Platform Currently, Samsung TV Plus boasts around 4,300 channels and 66,000 videos on demand (VOD) across 30 countries — all for free. By partnering with local broadcasters and content creators, the service continues to develop content that meets regional viewing demands, shaping a global FAST ecosystem. Moving beyond being merely a hardware manufacturer, the company is establishing itself as a major media platform. In Korea, major channels and content typically consumed via terrestrial broadcasts and existing IPTV services can now also be accessed on Samsung TV Plus. Offering live channels and vast content libraries without additional subscriptions or fees, this platform has become a practical alternative for those wishing to reduce their reliance on paid broadcasting services. Users can enjoy an intuitive experience without the hassle of extra equipment or complicated setups and the burden of discovering new content is significantly eased. Achieving Major Broadcaster-Level Viewership: Solidifying Leadership in the Global FAST Competition Samsung TV Plus has achieved impressive 100 million monthly viewership numbers, placing it on par with the three major global broadcasting networks. This notable milestone signifies that the service has evolved from being just an additional feature on Samsung TVs into a robust platform that competes alongside leading global media companies. Samsung is committed to expanding its presence within the global media ecosystem through Samsung TV Plus. The strategy focuses on continuously enhancing the platform’s value by setting standards for enjoyable TV viewing experiences for users — driven by three key factors: instant viewing capabilities without the need for a separate set-top box, AI-based content curation and constantly updated competitive offerings. “Samsung TV Plus has transformed into a global media platform that seamlessly integrates into the daily lives of viewers worldwide,” said Choi Joon-hun, Head of the TV Plus Group from Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen our distinct competitive edge in the FAST market by diversifying channels and securing premium content.” Built on its strong hardware leadership, Samsung Electronics is positioning itself as a key player in the global media ecosystem. 2. Samsung Electronics, a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, today announced that it has supplied professional monitors to support officiating and broadcast operations for select short track speed skating disciplines at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. “In environments where critical decisions depend on what people see, visual accuracy and reliability matter,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “We’re proud to see our professional monitors used in these real-world settings, and we continue to focus on developing display technologies built on precision and trust.” Short track speed skating is one of the fastest and most technically demanding sports in the Olympic Winter Games. Races are often decided by razor-thin margins — sometimes as little as 0.001 seconds — and outcomes can hinge on brief moments such as athlete contact or the precise positioning of a skate blade. In these situations, officials rely on high-speed camera systems and real-time video review to evaluate incidents and ensure fair competition. To support this process across short track speed skating disciplines, professional Samsung monitors are used to enable real-time video review and competition monitoring. With the aid of these monitors, officials can clearly assess critical moments and confidently make rulings. ViewFinity S8: Supporting Officiating With Clear, Reliable Visual Review In officiating areas near the field of play at Milano Cortina 2026, Samsung’s 37-inch ViewFinity S8 monitors (S80UD model) have been deployed to support fair play through real-time video review and competition monitoring. The ViewFinity S8 features a 4K UHD (3,840 × 2,160) resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio, offering a larger viewing area that allows officials to examine fine details without compromising clarity. Compared to standard 32-inch displays, the expanded screen enables clearer inspection of close calls at the same magnification, helping officials review footage with greater confidence. HDR10 support further enhances contrast and color expression, ensuring faithful reproduction of video feeds during critical decision-making moments. Odyssey Ark: Supporting Broadcast and Production Operations Samsung monitors have also been installed in video rooms operated by Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), the official Olympic broadcaster for the International Olympic Committee (IOC). In these broadcast and production environments, Odyssey Ark supports teams monitoring multiple live feeds on a 55-inch display with a 1,000R curvature and 4K UHD (3,840 × 2,160) resolution. Designed to enhance immersion while minimizing visual distortion, Odyssey Ark helps broadcast teams maintain a clear view of fast-paced action as competition intensity unfolds. A 1ms GtG1 response time supports consistent image clarity during dynamic scenes, contributing to smooth monitoring across live production workflows. Bringing Advanced Monitor Display Technology to Global Sporting Events During the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, Samsung is carrying out its global Olympic and Paralympic partnership campaign, “Open Always Wins.” First introduced at the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, the campaign reflects the value of openness — embracing differences, rejecting discrimination and creating greater possibilities through collaboration. At Milano Cortina 2026, the message is shared alongside Team Samsung Galaxy, Samsung’s official Olympic and Paralympic athlete ambassadors. Building on its experience supporting live competition and broadcast environments at Milano Cortina 2026, Samsung will continue developing monitor solutions optimized for global sporting events and complex on-site operations, supporting fair competition and seamless production under the most demanding conditions. About Samsung’s Involvement in the Olympic Games Samsung has been a Worldwide Olympic Partner since the Olympic Winter Games Nagano 1998. For nearly 30 years, athletes and fans have trusted Samsung’s transformative mobile technology to share the Olympic spirit globally and to help shape the digital future of the Olympic Games for Milano Cortina 2026 and beyond. 5. Samsung Electronics today announced the expansion of its commercial display offerings, led by the global launch of Samsung Spatial Signage, at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026 in Barcelona. The announcement includes new AI-powered content capabilities through Samsung VXT, new additions to Samsung’s supersized commercial display lineup and expanded enterprise collaboration with Cisco-certified wide-format display solutions. “For commercial environments, bringing displays and content solutions together is becoming increasingly important,” said SW Yong, President and Head of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Glasses-free 3D Spatial Signage, combined with new AI-powered capabilities in Samsung VXT, allows us to deliver a more integrated approach to immersive commercial displays, helping businesses create engaging experiences across a wide range of commercial environments.” Bringing Brands to Life Across a Range of Environments With Spatial Signage Spatial Signage is Samsung’s industry-leading 3D digital signage that delivers an immersive visual experience. Using Samsung’s patented 3D Plate technology, it creates a sense of spatial depth positioned behind the LCD panel. Content retains the sharpness of 2D visuals while adding natural-looking 3D depth — without the need for specialized equipment such as 3D glasses. The display’s presentation naturally draws attention in retail, luxury, museum and entertainment settings, helping direct focus to key promotions, exhibitions or important information. The newly launched 85-inch Spatial Signage display features a 4K UHD resolution (2,160 x 3,840) in a 9:16 portrait format, which enables brands and venues to present 360-degree rotating visuals that show front, back and side views of a product or scene. Powered by Samsung’s industry-leading Quantum Processor, the display provides 4K UHD upscaling, 16-bit color mapping and dynamic HDR refinement to deliver sharper detail, smoother tonal transitions and consistent color accuracy. Additionally, an anti-glare panel helps maintain clarity under bright or challenging lighting conditions. Spatial Signage features an UltraThin Design with a slim 52mm profile and a lightweight 49kg build. Compatible with a Slim Fit Wall Mount, the display installs like conventional signage and integrates cleanly into compact or design-sensitive locations, without the bulky, box-like enclosures typically associated with traditional showcase-style displays.1 Spatial Signage is available globally in an 85-inch model, with the launch of 32-inch and 55-inch sizes to follow. AI Studio, a new AI-powered content app within Samsung VXT,2 was showcased at ISE 2026 to demonstrate streamlined content creation for all Samsung signage connected to the platform. The app transforms static images into signage-ready video without the need for external tools or manual setup. Content created through VXT’s AI Studio app is automatically optimized with refined shadow detailing, adjusted margins and background treatments for Spatial Signage — creating more realistic and balanced visuals tailored for a wide variety of commercial environments. Recognized for its pioneering 3D capabilities, Spatial Signage has been named a CES 2026 Innovation Award Honoree in the newly introduced Enterprise Tech category, which made Samsung one of the first to be recognized in the category during its commercial debut at the show. Last year, the display was also named an IFA 2025 Innovation Award Honoree in the ‘Best in Emerging Tech’ category. Redefining Supersized Signage for Bold Business Impact Samsung is reinforcing its leadership in supersized commercial displays with a growing lineup of extra-large formats built for high-impact business environments. At ISE 2026, Samsung introduced the 130-inch Micro RGB signage (QPHX model) to commercial audiences for the first time. Previously unveiled at CES 2026 for the ultra-premium home entertainment market, the display features Samsung’s most advanced Micro LED technology to date. It combines micro-scale RGB LEDs with the Micro RGB AI Engine Pro to deliver vivid color expression and exceptional picture quality in an ultra-slim design, making it ideal for flagship retail and premium spaces. Also unveiled at ISE 2026 was the 108-inch The Wall All-in-One (MMF-A model) in 2K resolution, engineered to dramatically simplify large-format LED deployment. Like previous models (146-inch 4K and 2K, 136-inch 2K and 110-inch 2K), it reduces on-site setup time and labor compared to traditional LED walls. Installation is possible in as little as two hours, depending on display size.3 However, the new 108-inch model features a more compact, split-panel design that makes supersized LED installation as efficient as mounting two LCD screens rather than a full LED wall — all at a much faster pace. Together with the previously introduced 105-inch QPDX-5K and 115-inch QHFX models, the addition of the 130-inch Micro RGB Signage and The Wall All-in-One series gives businesses more ways to create immersive, ultra-large visual experiences across lobbies, showrooms, boardrooms and other high-impact commercial spaces. This expanded lineup reinforces Samsung’s 17-year leadership in the global digital signage market.4 Advancing Enterprise Collaboration With Cisco and Logitech Partnerships Samsung’s 115-inch 4K Smart Signage (QHFX model) and 146-inch 2K The Wall All-in-One (IAB model) lead the industry in advanced supersized displays, offering seamless, immersive meeting spaces without the complexity of multi-screen setups. These supersized models are the latest Samsung displays to be certified for compatibility with Cisco’s collaboration devices, joining the previously certified Samsung QMC lineup. Notably, Samsung The Wall All-in-One is the world’s first LED display to receive the certification.5 Cisco certification follows a rigorous testing program to confirm the reliability of the display’s video interfaces and ensure optimized image quality for video meetings. It also confirms the visibility of displays within Cisco’s Control Hub management platform and verifies secure, seamless integration across meeting spaces. Together, these factors contribute to high-quality meeting experiences for participants and improved enterprise management for IT teams. Additionally, through a new partnership with Logitech, Samsung 4K Smart Signage QBC series is now included in Microsoft’s Express Install for Microsoft Teams Rooms, enabling fast, cost-effective meeting room setups. The offering combines Samsung displays with Logitech’s certified Microsoft Teams Rooms conferencing solution to simplify room installations, allowing them to be completed in under an hour. The paper‑thin display uses advanced digital ink technology and ultra‑low power to offer businesses a practical alternative to traditional printed signage. “As businesses look for more flexible and efficient ways to communicate, Samsung Color E-Paper represents a shift in how digital signage fits into everyday operations,” said Hyoung Jae Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “By incorporating innovative technology such as phytoplankton-based bio-resin, we’re demonstrating our commitment to advancing both display technology and the materials behind it. Our Color E-Paper products are designed to replace paper with ultra-low power performance and ultra-slim, lightweight designs.” Paper‑Like Color and Clarity for Modern Digital Displays As the smallest model in the lineup, the new 13-inch Samsung Color E-Paper offers businesses a compact display option for shelves, counters, tables and doors where traditional paper signage is still widely used. Similar in scale to A4 paper, the display delivers 1,600 x 1,200 resolution in a 4:3 aspect ratio. With a rechargeable, embedded battery, USB Type-C support and flexible mounting options,1 the display can be deployed without permanent power cables. Its ultra-slim 17.9mm design weighs just 0.9kg with the battery, making it easy to install and reposition across different placements as campaigns change. Samsung’s advanced color imaging algorithm enhances color accuracy and readability to deliver a paper-like look and feel. By smoothing gradations and refining contours, it produces vivid visuals that resemble traditional posters and point-of-purchase displays, helping businesses transition naturally from printed materials to digital signage. Pioneering Lower‑Impact Signage With Bio‑Based Materials Samsung’s 13-inch Color E-Paper is the world’s first commercial display to apply a bio-resin derived from phytoplankton in its housing. The display’s housing has been independently verified by global safety and sustainability certification organization UL to consist of 45% recycled plastic and 10% phytoplankton-based bio-resin. This material innovation was developed as an alternative to conventional petroleum-based plastics, which can reduce carbon emissions in the manufacturing process by more than 40%.2 Sustainability is carefully considered in every part of the display, from the housing to the packaging. The entire packaging, including the box, cushion and accessory box, is made from 100% paper. Day-to-day operation is designed to be just as efficient. The display maintains static images at zero watts power, reducing unnecessary energy usage without compromising reliability.3 When content is updated, overall energy4 use remains far lower than that of conventional digital signage, which helps lower operating costs over time. Easy Content Control With Samsung E-Paper App and Samsung VXT Samsung’s 13-inch Color E-Paper supports simple content control for both local and remote operation. The Samsung E-Paper App, available on Android and iOS, allows staff to update and manage local content directly from personal devices, without the need for an additional remote control. The display is also compatible with Samsung VXT, a cloud-based content and remote device management platform that lets teams remotely manage hardware settings, troubleshoot issues and create and deploy content with minimal training. For Color E-Paper, Samsung VXT includes dedicated features to optimize content visibility, as well as a preview function that allows teams to check color accuracy before deployment. Alongside the new 13-inch display, Samsung will unveil a 20-inch model for the first time at ISE 2026, a world-renowned audiovisual and systems integration tech show held in Barcelona from Feb. 3-6. With this expansion of the Color E-Paper lineup beyond the existing 32-inch model offering, the Color E-Paper portfolio is increasingly designed to support a wide range of business needs. Samsung continues to lead the global digital signage market, securing a 36.2% global market share by volume in Q3 2025, building on its 17-year position as the world’s leading commercial display provider.5 The EM13DX series includes two rear holders, two hanging brackets and two simple stands. Additional installation accessories may be required, depending on the setup, and are sold separately. ︎Based on internal test results under specific conditions only. Comparison is made against petroleum-based resin (PC+ABS) of the same weight. Carbon emissions calculation is based on the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data of resin production following ISO 14067, 14040 and 14044 standards, covering carbon emissions from cradle to gate (excluding downstream, use-phase and end-of-life emissions). All figures are estimates based on available data and are subject to change. ︎Activities related to content refresh, content changes or device monitoring and control will require additional power. Content refresh is essential and automatically performed when the power cable or battery is connected. ︎Battery duration may vary based on factors including network environment, hardware components and user activity. ︎Consumer TVs are excluded. Learn more 6G AI/ML for Physical-Layer: Part II - CSI Compression with JSCM While the efficient acquisition of Channel State Information (CSI) is critical in modern wireless systems, traditional non-AI approaches struggle with the significant inflation of feedback payload when the number of antenna ports increases. AI-driven schemes designed to address this issue can substantially reduce CSI feedback overhead and boost throughput, but they still suffer from several practical issues: limited interoperability between vendor models, high computational complexity and power consumption, and a "cliff effect" that causes a sharp deterioration of performance. To address these issues, Samsung Research proposes a Joint Source Channel Coding and Modulation (JSCM) framework that introduces the concept of semantic communication, where the focus is shifted from the raw signal recovery to the meaning of the transmitted information. Unlike the conventional framework that first quantizes the CSI signal and then encodes it separately, JSCM operates directly on the unquantized signal and jointly optimizes source and channel coding as well as modulation, overcoming the technical limitations of conventional equal-bit protection. Go to the Samsung Research blog to learn more about the new JSCM paradigm, a core 6G technology to drive its systematic extension. Learn more DIFFSSR: Stereo Image Super-resolution Using a Differential Transformer Following SwinIR, which set a benchmark for image super-resolution using Swin Transformers, and SwinFIR, which further improved it to achieve SOTA, SwinFIRSSR established a strong baseline in StereoSR by introducing a Stereo Cross-Attention Module (SCAM). However, due to Transformers’ inherent attention noise and the structural limitation of SCAM being restricted to horizontal epipolar lines, performance degraded under misalignment. In addition, simply applying the DIFF Transformer (originally optimized for linguistic tasks) also led to performance degradation in visual tasks. As such, this study proposes DIFFSSR, which redesigns the DIFF Transformer for StereoSR and incorporates its core component, the Differential Cross Attention Block (DCAB). The newly introduced DCAB and SSCAM address the aforementioned attention noise and epipolar line misalignment issues, achieving new SOTA results across StereoSR benchmarks. This is also the first successful adaptation of the DIFF Transformer to visual tasks. DIFFSSR demonstrates the potential of Differential Transformers designed for visual tasks. 13. Samsung Electronics yesterday held “FAST Forward: How New Streaming Models Are Shaping the Next Generation of TV” as part of its Tech Forum panel series at CES 2026. Taking place at The Wynn in Las Vegas, Nevada, the panel brought together leaders from entertainment and media to explore the evolution of streaming and the rapid rise of free-ad-supported television (FAST). The session highlighted the interconnected relationship between today’s rapidly evolving consumer behaviors and preferences, the transformation of content by technology and monetization models, the expanding role of creators as studios and the ways in which interactive and live experiences are catalyzing a shift from passive viewing into active engagement. Moderated by Natalie Jarvey of The Ankler, the panel featured Salek Brodsky, SVP and Global Head of Samsung TV Plus; Alessandra Catanese, CEO of Smosh and Bruce Casino, EVP, Sales & Distribution, U.S., NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution. FAST Gains Momentum as Audiences Recalibrate Value As audiences grapple with subscription fatigue and a fragmented streaming landscape, the panel focused on how FAST is restoring simplicity and value to television. Samsung TV Plus anchored the conversation as a platform designed to reduce friction, offering hundreds of live and on-demand channels in one free, easily accessible experience across Samsung TVs and devices worldwide. “The TV experience today can often feel like too much work for the viewer,” said SVP Brodsky. “Our goal with Samsung TV Plus is to simplify television again and combine the power of linear discovery with a modern, connected experience that feels effortless, curated and truly valuable.” The panelists emphasized that FAST has evolved into a core part of the streaming ecosystem, complementing subscription and traditional models while delivering premium, proven programming at scale. For Samsung TV Plus, that evolution is rooted in shared experiences that elevate viewing and meet users not just where they already are, but where they want to be. Hybrid Models Redefine the Streaming Ecosystem Panelists emphasized that the evolution of streaming is less about replacing traditional models and more about expanding how audiences engage with content. FAST, subscription and linear distribution models are increasingly working in tandem, allowing studios to extend the life of proven franchises, reach new viewers and unlock additional value without sacrificing performance elsewhere. By leveraging data, audience behavior and decades of content insight, media companies are deploying FAST to complement existing channels and create a more resilient and diversified ecosystem. EVP Bruce Casino highlighted how this approach has enabled NBCUniversal to bring both classic and contemporary content to FAST audiences while continuing to see strong performance across platforms. “FAST doesn’t replace traditional distribution, it extends it,” said Casino. “What we’re seeing is that when great content shows up in multiple places, it creates incremental value rather than cannibalization — allowing franchises to thrive across FAST, streaming and linear channels.” Creators Emerge as the New Studios The panel also examined how the changing nature of consumer habits and television platforms means content creators do not have to work exclusively with legacy studios to reach a broad audience. As this medium expands from social platforms to the living room, FAST is helping bridge digital culture and traditional TV, while also serving to elevate its production quality. Samsung TV Plus was highlighted as a platform that helps creators evolve from digital-first brands into full-fledged television studios, helping expand reach, unlock new monetization opportunities and introduce content to broader, global audiences. One of the clearest examples of a brand that has taken the step from digital-first brand to legitimate TV studio is sketch comedy-improv collective Smosh. By launching a FAST channel with Samsung TV Plus, Smosh has been able to strengthen its connection with its already-dedicated fans while gaining access to a much larger viewer base. Due to this evolution, Smosh has enhanced long-term growth. “Partnering with Samsung TV Plus allowed us to elevate our production quality and invest in the future of the Smosh brand,” said CEO Alessandra Catanese. “It was the right platform to help us reach a broader audience while positioning our content in a premium environment that supports where we’re headed as a company.” Live and Interactive Experiences Drive Engagement Looking beyond on-demand viewing, panelists discussed how live programming like concerts and interactivity are reshaping the television experience by creating shared moments that audiences actively participate in. With features such as synchronized premieres and real-time participation, technology is transforming television from a passive activity into an interactive experience — fostering connection, excitement and a sense of belonging that brings viewers together organically. Together, the panelists agreed that the future of television will be defined by flexibility, cultural connection and experiences that invite participation, not just consumption. “Authentic content that creates cultural connection and brings people together is what matters most,” said SVP Brodsky. “That’s why we’re investing in live events, creator programming and interactive formats that remind people why TV has always been the center of the home.” As streaming continues to evolve, Samsung is focused on helping shape a TV ecosystem that delivers value for viewers, opportunity for creators and scale for advertisers — redefining what television can be in 2026 and beyond. 15. 19. Samsung Electronics recently unveiled its Music Studio series of Wi-Fi speakers at The First Look 2026 in Las Vegas. Designed for spatial harmony and rich sound, the Music Studio 5 and Music Studio 7 were created in collaboration with French designer Erwan Bouroullec. The partnership dates back to The Serif, a TV that won an iF Design Gold Award in 2016 and redefined TV design. Samsung Newsroom spoke with Bouroullec about the ideas behind the speakers’ design and his collaborative process with Samsung. The following responses have been modified for clarity and brevity. ▲ Music Studio Wi-Fi speakers are exhibited at The First Look 2026. Orb and Dot: Speakers That Shape the Color of a Space Q. What inspired the Music Studio design? ▲ The Music Studio design reflects Bouroullec’s orb-and-dot concept. Music has the power to surround you and transform your mood and emotions. I see music and sound as air and light: they’re an essential part of a room’s atmosphere. They can change the mood — even the “color” of a space. To me, that was the best place to begin: an essential form to visualize sound. I first drew symbols with an orb and a dot in the middle because this was inherently the skeleton of a “traditional” speaker. And then the forms came together. A moon-shaped orb would immediately connect the device to the idea of sound and music. Dots would visualize sound through time. Of course, whether or not the language resonates depends on one’s imagination and cultural background. But I am happy with the way I was able to express my interpretation of sound and music. It was a joy to build a visual environment that enhances the symbolic and sculptural nature of Music Studio — defined by its orb and the dot at its center. A Symphony of Design and Engineering Q. How was the experience of collaborating with Samsung on an audio product? Design is a practice that must go hand in hand with engineering. So of course Music Studio was conceived through a close dialogue between design and engineering. Based on my ideas, I first provided a form that engineering could build on. Then there has been a process of pure morphological transformation. Because Samsung engineers have a deep, grounded knowledge in sound and technology, the process of developing the form into a product was very pleasant. The engineers’ ideas based on their expertise were inspiring, even. Music Studio’s circular orb form, inspired by the origins of loudspeakers, connects directly to the geometry of sound. Refined through engineering, the shape evolved to enhance the acoustics while preserving its pure, sculptural presence. ▲ Bouroullec collaborated with Samsung on the Music Studio lineup. In the end, the idea wasn’t compromised. Instead, it naturally evolved into a better form that enabled clearer sound and deeper bass. I am a creative person; my instruments are production tools, my notes are materials and my songs are everyday objects. If I were a musician, Samsung would be the most powerful orchestra I could ever play with. Harmony: Connecting Sound and Space, Past and Present Q. How do you feel about the final product and its fit in users’ spaces? I aimed to convey an essential elegance through design. Designed to integrate naturally into any interior, Music Studio is a timeless and enduring companion for everyday life. In terms of form factor, a sturdy metal mesh front houses the speakers with precision, expressing honesty and function. ▲ The Music Studio 5 (left) and Music Studio 7 blend into a range of living spaces, connecting sound to space and familiar experiences with new features. Design always builds on conventions and widely accepted symbols that have been refined over decades — sometimes over centuries. On the other hand, technology evolves and so does the way we use the devices. So a key factor I focused on was to create a design that is both fresh enough to signal a new era in audio and pure enough to seamlessly integrate into various environments. Being “pure” means that Music Studio is easily connectable to the history of speakers. Being “fresh” means that it is able to incorporate new ways of experiencing audio content — like the addition of playlists and podcasts. In the end, I believe the design language of Music Studio has a simplicity to it that enables it to blend with older functionalities and patterns while heralding newer and more contemporary experiences. About the Music Studio Series Introduced at The First Look 2026, Samsung’s Music Studio 5 and Music Studio 7 Wi-Fi speakers incorporate technology from Samsung’s Audio Lab and offer connectivity for Wi-Fi casting, streaming services, voice control and Bluetooth via Samsung Seamless Codec. Available in black and white, the models can be used as standalone speakers or paired with additional units or Samsung TVs via Q-Symphony for wider stereo sound or a full surround-sound setup. About Erwan Bouroullec Erwan Bouroullec, born in 1976, began his design career after studying contemporary art in Paris. He and his brother, Ronan, founded a design studio in 1999 and have since worked with brands including Vitra, Alessi, Kartell, Magis and Hay. Known for an emphasis on simplicity, functionality and natural aesthetics, Bouroullec’s work reflects a minimalist approach. * All functionality, features, specifications and other product information provided in this document including, but not limited to, the benefits, design, color, pricing, components, performance, availability and capabilities of the product are subject to change without notice. 20. Samsung Electronics today unveiled its “Companion to AI Living” vision at The First Look, its CES® 2026 event held in the Latour Ballroom at the Wynn Las Vegas. The focus of the event was on AI as Samsung’s philosophy, a foundation that connects the company’s R&D product development, operations and user experience. TM Roh, CEO and Head of Samsung’s Device eXperience (DX) Division, opened The First Look by describing the company’s AI leadership and how, due to its vast, AI-enabled, connected ecosystem, Samsung can provide users with a true AI companion experience in their daily life. This approach gives users a chance to access more than just the basics from their technology and instead, provides opportunities to find more meaningful moments everywhere. “Samsung is building a more unified, more personal experience across mobile, visual display, home appliances and services,” said TM Roh. “With our global connected ecosystem, and by embedding AI across categories, Samsung is leading the way to offer more meaningful everyday AI experiences.” Entertainment Companion: Extending the Experience Beyond Simple Viewing SW Yong, President and Head of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics, and Sukhmani Mohta, Chief Marketing and Partnerships Officer, VD Business at Samsung Electronics America, took the stage to describe how Samsung’s displays are combining hardware excellence and visual intelligence to provide a true entertainment companion. Drawing from twenty years of leading the TV industry, Samsung has built a full AI TV lineup that provides an entirely new way for users to interact with their TV. The center of the display lineup is the 130-inch Micro RGB, which represents a monumental leap in scale and picture quality. The 130-inch Micro RGB marks a new era of color, featuring the widest and most detailed spectrum ever seen in Samsung TVs while its Timeless Frame design minimizes distractions and allows the picture to take center stage with understated elegance. A micro-sized RGB light source drives the unprecedented picture quality, with each microscopic red, green and blue diode shining independently to produce color in its purest, most natural form. Micro RGB AI Engine Pro enables precise control of RGB colors and creates overwhelmingly vivid picture quality in every scene. Elevating this next-level viewing experience, Vision AI Companion (VAC)1 uses AI technology to work alongside users as a full entertainment companion to enhance viewing, dining and mood, anywhere in the home. With it, users can receive guidance on what to watch, what to eat and what music to listen to, enhancing the overall TV experience in a way that extends far beyond simple viewing. Samsung also offers intuitive modes to personalize the viewing experience. For soccer fans, AI Soccer Mode Pro delivers a more exciting gameday experience through AI-driven picture and sound tuning to stadium-level quality. AI Sound Controller Pro lets you raise or lower the volume of the crowd, commentary, or background music, providing a personalized listening experience for TV shows and movies. Users can simply make verbal requests, and any TV equipped with VAC — which includes Micro LED, Micro RGB, OLED, Neo QLED, Mini LED and UHD TV — contextually carries out those requests. Across different types of programming, VAC also boosts the overall lifestyle experience. It allows users to find recipes for meals they see on TV by simply asking and uses the most up-to-date information to make recommendations that align with health and fitness goals. VAC offers multi-device functionality, as well, sending recommended recipes directly to other devices like the newly-unveiled The Movingstyle, designed to move easily throughout the home and kitchen appliances, for a multi-device experience achieved through complete ecosystem integration. Samsung has led the global soundbar market for 11 consecutive years. This year, it is introducing two new WiFi speakers, the Music Studio 5 and 7, to further expand its integrated ecosystem. These models support a wider range of sound system combinations, enhance audiovisual quality and improve the aesthetics of any space. Each model shares a timeless, dot design concept by renowned designer Erwan Bouroullec, inspired by a universal symbol in music and art and grounded in Samsung’s signature design language. Samsung also unveiled a host of new products that blend beautifully with users’ homes and aesthetics. The new, ultra-thin OLED S95H features a refined bezel that gives it art gallery elegance, and Samsung’s new portable projector, The Freestyle+, is powered by VAC and allows users to view content on walls and ceilings, as well as uneven surfaces like corners and curtains. The 2026 TV lineup2 supports HDR10+ ADVANCED, delivering enhanced brightness, genre-based optimization, intelligent motion smoothing, advanced local tone mapping and improved gaming experience. As HDR10+ adoption grows among major OTT providers, Samsung will be the first to launch HDR10+ ADVANCED in its 2026 TV lineup. Samsung also features Eclipsa Audio, the company’s new spatial sound system, introduced across all 2026 TVs. Samsung also unveiled its most advanced Odyssey gaming monitor lineup yet, introducing five new models that push the boundaries of resolution, refresh rate and immersive visual performance. Led by Samsung’s first 6K 3D Odyssey G9, the 2026 lineup debuts world-first display technologies for gamers and creators, including the next-generation Odyssey G6 and three new Odyssey G8 models. At the center of all these display innovations is the most powerful Tizen OS yet. Users can now enjoy seven years of Tizen OS upgrades, ensuring that TVs continue to evolve long after they have entered the home. Home Companion: Connected Smart Appliances That Guide You Through Your Day Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Appliances (DA) Division at Samsung Electronics, and Elizabeth Anderson, Head of Integrated Marketing, DA at Samsung Electronics America (SEA) outlined Samsung’s vision to evolve from providing home appliances to true home companions that work to eliminate the stress of daily chores. Cheolgi Kim also announced that as of December 2025, SmartThings now serves more than 430 million users, empowering Samsung with a significant scale and depth of insight that sets it apart from other brands. This insight comes to life with the Family Hub. The AI-enabled refrigerator is the centerpiece of the home and now, with an upgrade to AI Vision built with Google Gemini,3 it redefines living for an AI future. With this update, AI Vision unlocks existing limitations in recognizing food items, seamlessly tracking what is placed into and taken out of the refrigerator, making meal planning and food management simpler than ever.4 The Family Hub has won 10 CES Innovation Awards so far, and Samsung’s AI-enabled fridges have received the award for the past three years. Through a gamified feature called “What’s for Today?”,5 select refrigerators provide recipe recommendations based on what is in the refrigerator or also random recommendations, reducing the stress caused by choosing what to cook. When selected, recipes show up through SmartThings Food, where users receive a step-by-step guide to help them get started instantly. The selected recipe can also be sent to connected cooking appliances to begin the process seamlessly. Video to Recipe6 adds even more simplicity, providing users with recommended cooking videos and converting those videos into easy-to-follow steps, allowing users to follow along while they cook without pausing the video or backtracking. Samsung also unveiled FoodNote,7 a new, weekly report that recaps users’ food intake patterns, from most-used ingredients and recipe recommendations, and which items it’s time to restock. Additionally, Now Brief8 includes more widgets on the Family Hub screen and with Voice ID,9 can distinguish between family members and display content relevant to each individual. Ultimately, these features come together to provide various helpful insights and information throughout the week. In the laundry room, the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo removes the need to transfer loads of laundry, solving a major pain point for households. This year’s model comes with enhanced features, like a faster super speed cycle and enhanced drying performance. Moreover, Samsung’s new Bespoke AI AirDresser is here to solve another common problem with your clothes. It features Auto Wrinkle Care, which blasts strong air and steam jets to smooth out shirts. All users have to do is hang their shirt and wait, reducing the burden in busy mornings. Around the house, the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra, powered by a Qualcomm Dragonwing processor, features an Active Stereo 3D Sensor to recognize liquids10 like coffee, juice, or even transparent liquids like water. While its camera helps with navigation, it also allows the robot vacuum to serve as a monitoring device for when users are away from home, notifying them about their pets and whether there is any suspicious activity.11 Plus, with a smarter Bixby,12 users can speak conversationally to their robot vacuum to carry out tasks with ease. For the deep level of connectivity and integration that forms the backbone of a holistic, AI-powered experience, Samsung’s Bespoke AI appliances have received a CES Innovation Award. Additional benefits include a first-of-its-kind partnership with Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB) to help unlock real, meaningful savings to the smart home experience. HSB President and CEO Greg M. Barats joined the presentation to discuss the partnership, explaining the potential benefits of having smart appliances connected to SmartThings to reduce insurance premiums. This is the best of the AI era — increased protections and reduced costs for users. After a successful pilot run in the U.S. in 2025, the collaboration is expanding to more states across the U.S., as well as to leading home insurance carriers in other global regions. Care Companion: Shifting From Reactive to Proactive Care Finally, Praveen Raja, Vice President and Head of Digital Health at Samsung Research America (SRA), introduced Samsung’s long-term vision for intelligent care enabled by Samsung’s integrated device ecosystem, redefining care from a reactive need to a proactive opportunity. With AI, phones, appliances, wearables and other connected devices will help users prevent potential health concerns before they occur. For example, Samsung aims to provide personalized health coaching, offering effective exercise and sleep coaching to help decrease risk for major chronic diseases and also suggesting appropriate recipes based on ingredients available in connected refrigerators. Additionally, if any abnormal signs or patterns are detected, it will alert users while allowing their health metrics to be shared with providers via the Xealth platform and facilitating virtual professional consultations. Recognizing the importance of preventative health, Samsung is also expanding its capabilities in dementia detection through research partnerships, with wearable devices registering subtle changes to mobility, speech and engagement that can be indicative of long-term cognitive changes. Samsung Knox and Knox Matrix serve as the foundation of this hyper-personalized ecosystem, safeguarding user data at every turn. As AI is constantly evolving, so are Knox and Knox Matrix. 21. Samsung Electronics today unveiled the world’s first 130-inch Micro RGB TV (R95H model) at CES 2026, marking the debut of its largest Micro RGB display and a bold new design direction for ultra-premium displays. “Micro RGB represents the peak of our picture quality innovation, and the new 130-inch model takes that vision even further,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “We’re reviving the spirit of our original design philosophy introduced more than a decade ago to deliver an unmistakably premium display, engineered with technology for a new generation.” Bold Design That Redefines What a TV Can Be The Micro RGB TV’s commanding scale, next-generation color technology and striking design approach reflect Samsung’s longstanding leadership in engineering excellence united with premium aesthetics. With a monumental frame and improved audio performance, the 130-inch display is intentionally designed to appear less like a television and more like a vast, immersive window that visually expands the room. The TV offers a modern, gallery-inspired aesthetic through the Timeless Frame, a modern evolution of Samsung’s 2013 Timeless Gallery design, now with a refined frame that embodies the philosophy of “technology as art.” Inspired by the frame of a grand architectural window, the ultra-large screen appears to float within its borders, transforming the TV into an artistic centerpiece that shapes the room. Sound integrated into the display’s frame is carefully balanced to the screen’s size, so picture and audio feel naturally connected in a space. Ultimate Viewing Experience To Match Its Scale The 130-inch Micro RGB model features Samsung’s most advanced Micro RGB innovations to date. Powered by Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, Micro RGB Color Booster Pro and Micro RGB HDR Pro, it leverages AI to enhance dull tones and refine contrast, delivering vivid color and subtle detail across bright and dark scenes alike for realism and picture fidelity. The display elevates picture performance with Micro RGB Precision Color 100, delivering 100% of the BT.2020 wide color gamut. Certified by the Verband der Elektrotechnik (VDE) for precise Micro RGB color reproduction, it produces finely controlled hues that appear true to life on screen. The 130-inch model also includes Samsung’s proprietary Glare Free technology, which minimizes reflections, further preserving clear color and contrast across a variety of lighting conditions for the best viewing experience. The product supports HDR10+ ADVANCED1 and Eclipsa Audio to provide an enhanced picture and sound quality, as well as Samsung’s enhanced Vision AI Companion,2 enabling conversational search, proactive recommendations and access to AI features and apps such as AI Football Mode Pro, AI Sound Controller Pro, Live Translate, Generative Wallpaper, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity. 22. Samsung Electronics today announced the global launch of The Freestyle+, its latest AI-powered portable projector designed to deliver a more flexible and personalized entertainment experience across a wide range of spaces. Unveiled ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas, The Freestyle+ builds on the distinctive design of the original Freestyle while introducing smarter AI capabilities, improved brightness and expanded entertainment features — allowing users to enjoy content more freely, with minimal setup or adjustment. “The Freestyle+ reflects Samsung’s vision to create displays that adapt naturally to how people live and move between spaces,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “By combining true portability with intelligent AI that optimizes both the viewing environment and the content itself, The Freestyle+ makes it easier to enjoy a consistent, high-quality experience wherever you are.” Smarter AI That Lets You Point and Play Instantly At the core of The Freestyle+ is AI OptiScreen, Samsung’s AI-powered screen optimization technology that automatically adjusts the picture to different spaces — so users can simply point, place and start watching. AI OptiScreen includes a set of intelligent features designed to automatically optimize the picture across different surfaces and environments: 3D Auto Keystone automatically corrects distortion even when projecting onto uneven or non-flat surfaces, such as corners, curtains or angled walls. Real-time Focus continuously adjusts focus as the projector moves or rotates, helping maintain clear, stable images without blurring or visual noise. Screen Fit automatically adjusts the image to match the screen area when used with a compatible projector screen accessory. Wall Calibration analyzes the color or pattern of the projection surface and minimizes visual distractions for clearer viewing. This intelligent viewing experience is further supported by Vision AI Companion, Samsung’s personalized AI platform for screens, which integrates enhanced Bixby with AI services from global partners to enable more natural, conversational interaction with on-screen content. Light to Carry, Designed for Everyday Viewing Designed with portability in mind, The Freestyle+ features a compact cylindrical form factor that is easy to move between rooms or take on the go. With 430 ISO Lumens, it delivers nearly twice the brightness of the previous generation, helping content appear clear and engaging in everyday living environments. Designed for everyday viewing, The Freestyle+ lets users move it freely without worrying about whether the space is “right” for projection. Its 180-degree rotating design supports projection at virtually any angle — including walls, floors and ceilings — without additional mounts or accessories, enabling flexible viewing setups that adapt naturally to different rooms and moments throughout the day. On-the-Go Entertainment with Immersive Sound Designed for moments beyond the living room, The Freestyle+ brings entertainment with you — without relying on external devices or fixed setups. Built-in access to Samsung TV Plus, certified OTT service partners and Samsung Gaming Hub allows users to stream, play and explore content directly from the projector without the need for external devices. For audio, The Freestyle+ delivers immersive, room-filling sound through its built-in 360-degree speaker, tuned to produce richer, fuller audio in a compact design. Q-Symphony allows the projector to work in sync with compatible Samsung soundbars, creating a more layered and cohesive sound experience wherever it is used. Samsung Electronics will showcase The Freestyle+ at CES 2026, taking place January 6–9 in Las Vegas, with a phased global rollout planned for the first half of the year. View the full article

  24. Samsung Electronics, the global leader in soundbars, today introduced its 2026 sound device lineup, marking a new chapter in how sound is experienced throughout the home. The expanded range — which will be showcased at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada from Jan. 6-9 — delivers richer immersion, clean expression and more unified multi-device performance through next-generation soundbars and Wi-Fi speakers. “For more than a decade, Samsung has shaped the evolution of home audio through advanced acoustics, intelligent features and thoughtful design,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “We’re continuing that legacy with next-generation sound devices designed to deliver a rich, expressive performance for any space and moment.” Redefining Cinematic Sound With Samsung’s Q-Series Soundbars Samsung’s 2026 Q-Series soundbars reinterpret cinematic sound for contemporary homes, offering richer immersion across a range of room sizes and listening preferences. Samsung’s latest flagship Soundbar (HW-Q990H model) delivers its most immersive soundbar experience yet, debuting Sound Elevation, a technology that lifts dialogue toward the center of the screen for more natural sounding audio. It also introduces Auto Volume, which maintains consistent volume across channels and content for a smoother, more balanced listening experience. The 11.1.4-channel system combines a 7.0.2 main bar, 4.0.2 rear speakers and dual 8-inch driver built-in compact active subwoofer, refined for a powerful and space-efficient bass. Up-firing channels and next-generation AI tuning further broaden the sound field, bringing a sense of scale typically associated with professional home theater setups. New to the 2026 lineup is Samsung’s All-in-One Soundbar (HW-QS90H model), which blends performance with aesthetic versatility. Its Convertible Fit design supports both wall-mount and tabletop placements, while a built-in gyro sensor automatically adapts channel distribution based on orientation. A 7.1.2-channel system with 13 drivers — including nine wide-range speakers — and a built-in Quad Bass Woofer system deliver deep bass without the need for a separate subwoofer. Music Studio Series: Iconic Dor Design, Expressive Sound Samsung is introducing two new Wi-Fi speakers, the “Music Studio 5” and “Music Studio 7,” to build a stronger integrated ecosystem. These new models enable a wider range of sound system combinations than before, maximizing the audiovisual experience. Additionally, they offer richer sound experiences while also enhancing aesthetic harmony with users’ spaces, allowing users to enjoy an improved audio environment. Each model shares a timeless dot concept by renowned designer Erwan Bouroullec, inspired by a universal symbol in music and art — and grounded in Samsung’s signature aesthetic. Music Studio 7 (LS70H model) is the most immersive model in the series, delivering 3.1.1-channel spatial audio through left, front, right and top-firing speakers for natural 3D immersion. Samsung’s Audio Lab Pattern Control Technology reduces signal overlap for cleaner directionality, while AI Dynamic Bass Control delivers deep bass with minimal distortion and Hi-Resolution Audio enables audio processing up to 24-bit/96kHz. Also, thanks to the super tweeter, the frequency range can extend up to 35kHz for enhanced musical detail. Available in black and white, it functions as a standalone immersive speaker or can be paired with additional units or Samsung TVs via Q-Symphony for wider stereo or a full surround-sound setup. Music Studio 5 (LS50H model) is designed for homes where aesthetic harmony is as important as sound, offering a smaller, gallery-inspired form that complements and elevates interior spaces. Tuned by Samsung Audio Lab, it uses a 4” woofer and dual tweeters with a built-in waveguide for clear, balanced sound, while AI Dynamic Bass Control deepens low frequencies without distortion. Wi-Fi casting, streaming services, voice control and Bluetooth via Samsung Seamless Codec provide smart, seamless connectivity. A More Intelligent, Connected and Immersive Sound Experience For 11 consecutive years, Samsung has been the global leader in soundbars, driven by a commitment to engineering excellence led by the Samsung Audio Lab in California. This foundation shapes every part of Samsung’s 2026 lineup, bringing together advanced acoustics, purposeful design and intelligent connectivity. In 2026, Samsung’s Q-Symphony becomes even more adaptive, enabling Samsung TVs, soundbars and Wi-Fi speakers to operate as a unified sound ecosystem. Users can now pair up to five sound devices with a Samsung TV while Q-Symphony analyzes room layout and device placement to optimize channel distribution. The result is clearer dialogue and more detailed surround sound as you are in the middle of the scene. Additionally, with Wi-Fi connectivity and the SmartThings app, users can control sound settings, manage group playback, and access music streaming and voice assistant features through a single, intuitive interface. SmartThings also provides instant music controls, making it easy to start listening and adjust playback from any connected mobile device. Samsung’s audio lineup also includes the all-new Sound Tower (ST50F and ST40F models) launched in late 2025, offering powerful outdoor and social listening experiences that complement the Music Studio and Soundbar families. Together, these innovations reflect Samsung’s continued leadership at the frontier of home audio, uniting acoustics, design and intelligence to create a sound experience that feels effortless, expressive and deeply connected.
